MAY 2010 NEW ALBUM
(Man On A Mission)
Release Date
ZimRoots Music International is proud to announce its upcoming sophomore official worldwide release...the brand new and sizzling, long-awaited CD, Man on A Mission. The release date is set for MAY 2010.
This album is going to be an awesome treat for all fans and all roots reggae lovers. The message is serious, yet on occasion embarks on a journey into the lovers arena, as evidenced by lovers rock sounds like Distant Lover and the groovy get-up-and-dance-right-now jam titled Jenny. Known for his conscious lyrics, Kulcha said, " I wanted to explore another side of me which I had not really explored before. I wanted to write and record a few love songs." The title track, Man On A Mission, and tracks like Praise Jahoviah, take listeners back to the early '70's roots era. The voice is commanding, yet delivered in a soothing fashion, only as Kulcha can.
On this record, Kulcha Far I, whose main reggae influences are Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Ijahaman Levi, Don Carlos, Misty in Roots, Israel Vibrations, Ziggy Marley, Lucky Dube, Alpha Blondy, and Majek Fashek, among others, once again teams up with his long-time production partner, bassist, composer and producer, Keith Abrams (Africa is My Roots) to work on yet another epic offering. Abrams delivers some of the heaviest, no-apologies basslines roots reggae lovers appreciate.
Recorded at Time Capsule studio in California and mixed by renowned engineer Denjres, this hard-hitting roots CD features bouncy up-tempo roots tracks like Jenny, Open Your Heart, Love In My Heart, Here I Am, Ndoita Seiko and the mesmerizing Nyabhingi style ode to nature, aptly entitled Mother Nature. The Afro-beat Mhuri Pamberi showcases the unmistakable ambiance of African roots vibes.
